Rickwood Caverns State Park is located in Warrior, Alabama. Its main attraction is a network of caverns that were discovered in the early 1950s.
This massive network of caverns features 260-million-year-old limestone formations, some of which are still active living formations. They must be seen to be believed.
Evidence of shell fragments and fossils of marine life have lead many people to believe Rickwood Caverns was carved from an ocean bed.
Visitors of Rickwood Caverns State Park can take a tour of the cave daily at 10AM, 12PM, 2PM, or 4PM. Rates: Ages 13 and up, $17.50; Ages 5 to 12, $8.00; Ages under 5, FREE with parent or guardian.
While touring Rickwood Caverns, you'll get to travel 175 feet below the earth and experience a constant 58-62 degree temperature.
