Today, Irondale Cafe is a cafeteria-style restaurant that specializes in delicious "meat and three" dishes.

The one food this iconic restaurant is best known for is its fried green tomatoes. On average, Irondale Cafe serves 600-800 slices of fried green tomatoes each day.
Irondale Cafe was the inspiration for the Whistle Stop Cafe in Fannie Flagg's novel "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe," which was the basis for the film. People from near and far visit this iconic restaurant because of its unique Hollywood connection.
