Many types of dining establishments are located throughout Alabama, including several that promote healthy eating. One place in particular is actually a food truck that goes by the name of “Hippea Camper.” For information about this food truck, including the types of food it offers, take a look below.
The Hippea Camper, Alabama's first plant-based food truck, is located in the city of Huntsville.
This unique food truck offers a variety of Southern comfort foods with a healthy twist. One of their most popular menu items is the BBQ Jackfruit Sammie, which consists of shredded jackfruit, barbecue sauce, slaw, and pickles on a potato bun.
Another popular sandwich is the Pimento Cheese Sammie. This Southern favorite consists of cashew cheese, pimento, red pepper flakes, tomatoes, and Sweet City Microgreens on toast.
The ultimate comfort food served at the Hippea Camper is undoubtedly their Mac & Cheese, which is vegan and available in the following flavors: traditional, buffalo, or truffle & bacon.
If you're a fan of chicken salad, you'll love the Hippea Camper's Chickpea Salad, which is available in traditional or buffalo flavors. Each scoop is served with gluten-free crackers, celery, cucumbers, and carrots.
If you enjoy Mexican food, the Hippea Camper has you covered! They serve enchiladas, tacos, and their ever-so-popular Loaded Nachos, which are topped with black beans, meatless crumble, vegan sour cream, vegan cheddar cheese, avocado, lettuce, and hot homemade salsa.
