5. Growing up in Alabama means we all know our way around the great outdoors. After all, Alabama is home to some of the nation's top hiking trails, fishing spots, and campsites.

6. In 1703, America's original Mardi Gras was celebrated in Mobile, Alabama, not New Orleans, Louisiana. However, over the years, this aspect of life in Alabama has been up for constant debate.

7. Living in Alabama, we're fortunate to be able to celebrate all four seasons. Not every state is lucky to experience the beauty of winter, spring, summer, and fall, but thankfully we are.
