Mount Cheaha, located near the town of Delta, is surrounded by the Talladega National Forest and home to Cheaha State Park, Alabama’s oldest continuously operating state park. With an elevation of 2,407 feet, Mount Cheaha is Alabama’s highest natural point. One of the best ways to experience breathtaking views from Mount Cheaha is from Bunker Tower (pictured), a unique stone tower that’s located at the top of Mount Cheaha’s tallest peak. Bunker Tower opened in 1934 and was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1989.
