In 2022 Birmingham men won concept stage funding through a statewide startup competition, and it’s all been downhill since then. They couldn’t be happier, nor could the state’s adventure sports community, with the opening of RideBHM, a downhill mountain biking park in Birmingham, Alabama.
RideBHM is a pay-to-ride private park, so visitors must buy a day pass or membership to hit what RideBHM calls 20 of "the sickest downhill trails in the state." Spectators can watch for free.
Passholders can ride the trails seven days a week from sunrise to sunset. The park allows primitive camping in the parking area with plans to expand to more amenities in the future.
Hobie King and Emile Hughes founded Ride Resorts as a side hustle, aiming to develop a full-scale mountain biking experience complete with trails, entertainment, and camping. Winning $25,000 in a statewide entrepreneurial competition was a huge boost to their efforts.
To buy passes, visit the RideBHM website, and keep up with the park’s latest events on the RideBHM Facebook page.
