Next time you are ravenous, blaze a path to El Olmeca, a Mexican restaurant in Huntsville, Alabama. While this spot has made one of our lists for having awesome tacos, we both know tacos are small talk when you’ve surpassed just hungry to hangry. For that, El Olmeca has your six-pound burrito solution.
Sound spicily enticing? Details follow.
El Olmeca Mexican Cantina's Burrito Macho XXL Challenge is only for the brave of belly. On one side of the ring: A $30, six-pound burrito. On the other? You and your appetite.
If you can finish this monster in 20 minutes or less, your meal for free. Winners also get a $10 gift card for their next visit.
While there's plenty of room to bring witnesses, you must follow the rules if you do the challenge. The restaurant allows only one challenge, one time, per customer. Contenders must also eat the entire thing as it’s served.
While presumably you could order the giant burrito and share it, that's not allowed for the challenge itself.

The Burrito Macho XXL consists of your choice of grilled steak or chicken, lettuce, beans, rice, and sour cream wrapped in a flour tortilla. A trio of sauces covers the burrito, including green sauce, cheese dip, and red sauce - an extra nod to the Mexican flag.
Note that just one size down, the Burrito Macho LG has identical ingredients. Even the super-hungry have reported the biggest burrito’s little sibling is still hard to finish in one sitting. If you’re not an insatiably next-level nosher, El Olmeca has 10 other still-large yet standard burrito options.
Many of the restaurant's specialties get rave reviews, like the Piña El Olmeca. The dish consists of a fresh, halved pineapple loaded with proteins, vegetables, rice, beans, and cheese.
Another favorite is Camarones a la Cucaracha (spicy shrimp). Those with milder mouths will find comfort in dozens of flavorful traditional choices such as tacos, salads, fajitas, enchiladas, and chimichangas.
Last, it would be remiss to not mention the margaritas, especially considering the El Olmeca logo puts them first, proclaiming, "Since 1999. Margaritas & Food."
The margs menu is extensive, from top-shelf or regular, traditional or skinny lime to a host of other flavors like peach, mango, guava, and jalepeño, to name a few. They come in three glass sizes all the way up to pitchers and table towers.
