The Pizza Bar serves a hot ham and cheese sandwich that's so delicious it attracts people from all over the South. In fact, this restaurant is best known for this tasty sandwich.
Even though this famous sandwich is quite simple to make, it packs a huge punch when it comes to flavor. The Pizza Bar uses Gambino's Gourmet Bread from New Orleans as the base of the sandwich. It's then sliced in half and topped with 8 ounces of shredded ham and four slices of cheese.
The top of the sandwich is then brushed with a secret butter sauce before going into the oven for 10 minutes. After removing the sandwich from the oven, mayonnaise is then spread over the shredded ham and slices of cheese.
After the sandwich is put together, more secret butter sauce is spread across the top.
The sandwich is then cut in half and ready to be served.
