1. Alabama is the only state to have an alcoholic beverage as its official drink: Conecuh Ridge Whiskey.
3. Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, located in Clarke County, includes several tombstones featuring death masks that were cast from the people whose graves they mark.
7. Shelby County Habitat for Humanity holds the record for the world's fastest home building. The house is located in Montevallo and only took 3 hours, 26 minutes and 34 seconds to complete from start to finish.
9. In the town of Oak Grove, on November 30, 1954, Ann Hodges was hit by a meteorite while napping on her couch. Surprisingly, Ann survived and is the only confirmed person in history to have been hit by a meteorite.
