Aldridge Gardens opened on June 1, 2002. Over the years, it's become one of Alabama's top outdoor attractions.

This 30-acre property once belonged to well-known horticulturist Eddie Aldridge and his wife, Kay. In 1994, the Aldridges transferred the property to the city of Hoover to be used as a public garden.

Aldridge Gardens features a variety of gorgeous hydrangeas, including the Snowflake Hydrangea. This special hydrangea was discovered by Mr. Aldridge and his father in 1969. In 1971, they patented it. The Snowflake Hydrangea is Hoover's official flower.

Because more than 90 species of birds call Aldridge Gardens home, this beautiful garden is the perfect place for bird watching.

Aldridge Gardens' half-mile trail, which features a lake, is the perfect place for a morning, afternoon or evening stroll.

During your stroll, you'll encounter several breathtaking water features and....

...an array of whimsical sculptures designed by Frank Fleming, an internationally acclaimed sculptor and Southern artist.

Some of the sculptures are so realistic that they might even fool you...from afar.

Aldridge Gardens is one of Alabama's most popular wedding venues. The property is also used to host other types of events throughout the year, including festivals, art exhibits and seminars.
