You'll Have Loads Of Fun At This Dairy Farm In Alabama With Incredible Homemade Ice Cream

If you’ve been looking for a unique place to take your family, consider a visit to Blue Ribbon Dairy. Blue Ribbon Dairy is a wonderful place in Alabama that’s great for a day trip. Blue Ribbon Dairy is a Grade A dairy farm that's located off the beaten path in Tallassee, Alabama.
The farm's 4th-generation owner, Michaela Wilson, milks an average of 32 cows twice a day in the same barn her grandfather built many decades ago. The three breeds currently milked include the following: Holstein, Brown Swiss, and Jersey. Visitors are welcome to watch these cows as they're milked.
Blue Ribbon Dairy is open to the public Sunday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. For ages 2 and under, admission is free. Visitors of the farm can participate in a few different activities, including bottle feeding the calves, which take place every day at 3:30 p.m. (when available).
While at the farm, you'll definitely want to give the homemade ice cream a try. It's made onsite and is available in a variety of delicious flavors. Pints and half pints are available. Ice cream (scooped and cones) is offered Sunday through Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Blue Ribbon Dairy also offers pony rides, which currently take place Thursday and Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Rides cost $5 (cash only).
