Bayou La Batre, located in Mobile County, was founded in 1786. This amazing fishing village is known as the "Seafood Capital of Alabama."
2. Cordova
Cordova is located in Walker County and was originally settled on the Mulberry Fork of the Black Warrior River. This small Alabama town was incorporated in 1897.
3. Ashville
Ashville, the county seat of St. Clair County, was established in 1822. This historic Alabama town offers a wonderful city park for family outings, in addition to Greensport Marina - the perfect place for boating and fishing.
4. Hackleburg
Hackleburg, located in Marion County, was incorporated in 1909. On April 27, 2011, 75% of the town was destroyed by an EF5 tornado. Hackleburg has been rebuilding ever since.
5. Eclectic
Eclectic, located in Elmore County, was incorporated in 1907. It was founded by a practitioner of eclectic medicine, which is how it got its name.
6. Fruitdale
Fruitdale is located in Washington County. If you happen to find yourself driving through this Alabama town, be on the lookout. There have been several ghostly sightings in and around Fruitdale in recent years.
7. Loxley
Loxley is located in Baldwin County and was incorporated in 1957. In this small Alabama town, residents have a relatively low cost of living and get to enjoy life at a much slower pace than if they lived in a larger city. Loxley's motto is "Biggest Little Town in Baldwin."
8. Abbeville
Abbeville is the county seat of Henry County and was first settled in 1822. It's known for its small town charm, excellent schools and wonderful outdoor recreation opportunities, which include hunting, fishing and more.
9. Stevenson
Stevenson is located in Jackson County. One of the town's main attractions is the Stevenson Railroad Depot Museum. Stevenson's main event is their annual "Stevenson Depot Days Festival," which is held the first full week of June.
10. Sylvan Springs
Sylvan Springs is located in Jefferson County and was incorporated in 1957. Its motto is "Growing Into the Future."
11. Greensboro
Greensboro, the county seat of Hale County, was incorporated in 1823 and is best known for its historic district. Greensboro's historic district features nearly 150 nineteenth century buildings, including beautiful antebellum mansions.
12. Flomaton
Flomaton is located on the border between Florida and Alabama, in Escambia County. It was incorporated in 1908 and serves as a railway junction.
