Alabama is home to a variety of attractions, including several award-winning museums. One of these museums is the Cook Museum of Natural Science. To learn all about this wonderful science museum, take a look below.
The Cook Museum of Natural Science is located in Decatur, Alabama. It's one of the state's best hands-on science museums.
Since opening in 2019, this award-winning museum has welcomed numerous guests from all across the North Alabama region and beyond.
During your museum visit, you'll have the opportunity to get close to nature through several interactive exhibits. One of the museum's most popular exhibits is the "Forests" exhibit. While at this exhibit, you can explore the "Curiosity Cabin," climb "Big Tree," and so much more.
While at the museum, you can also explore a cave that's been recreated to resemble some of Alabama's caves. You can even climb through the walls of the cave to look for animals.
If you love the ocean and you're a fan of marine life, you'll most certainly enjoy the museum's 15,000-gallon saltwater aquarium. It features a variety of saltwater fish and corals of different colors and sizes.
The Cook Museum of Natural Science also features a "Rivers & Streams" exhibit, which includes a 600-gallon freshwater aquarium and various animal displays.
If you have small children, you'll want to visit the "Wonderful World of Insects" exhibit, which offers a fun play area.
