The Linn-Henley building was built in 1927 as the home of the Birmingham Public Library. This four-story, Neo-Classical structure is made from Indiana limestone and is often considered to be the most beautiful library in Alabama.

Interestingly, this was the primary location of the Birmingham Public Library until 1984. A new Birmingham Central Library was eventually built across 21st Street North.
