When it comes to hiking trails, Alabama doesn’t disappoint! There are several types of trails located throughout the Yellowhammer State that attract hiking enthusiasts from near and far. One of these trails meanders through Natural Bridge Park, one of Alabama’s top outdoor attractions. For information about this park and trail, take a look below.
Natural Bridge Park is located in Winston County, Alabama near the town Haleyville.
Since opening to the public in 1954, this scenic park has welcomed numerous visitors from all across the Southeast and beyond. After all, it's one of the area's true hidden gems.
One of the best ways to explore Natural Bridge Park is to hike its Natural Bridge Park Loop. This trail is around a mile long and is easy for both children and adults to navigate.

Although the Natural Bridge Park Loop has some rough terrain in certain spots, it'll still lead you to some pretty amazing features. One of these features is the "Indian Face," which is a rock outcropping with a carving that resembles the face of a Native American.
Following a short walk, you'll spot Alabama's Natural Bridge in the distance. With a length of 148 feet, this amazing sandstone bridge is the longest natural bridge east of the Rocky Mountains.
Another unique feature of this trail is the fact that it'll take you under Natural Bridge, which is believed to be more than 200 million years old.
Until you're standing under this natural wonder, you can never understand how incredible it truly is. It's an experience everyone should have.
After experiencing Natural Bridge, you'll then head back to the beginning of the trail. If you're ever passing thorough the area, make plans to visit Natural Bridge Park and hike its Natural Bridge Park Loop. From its great history to its beautiful scenery, you won't be disappointed!
