This 2800-acre state park, the oldest in Alabama, is marked by dense forests, rock formations, and the highest point in Alabama at 2,407 feet. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of this special place from the Bald Rock Boardwalk.

Also known as the Doug Ghee trail, this 0.3-mile hike is easy for all ages and leads to an overlook with a stunning view atop Bald Rock. Out and back, the walk is a total of 0.6 miles.

Within the park, you’ll find a restaurant with a panoramic view from the dining room, cabins, chalets, and campgrounds. There’s even a 30-room hotel. You can really make a getaway out of a trip out here.
