Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama's largest state park, is a great place to visit year-round, especially during the fall season. The weather is much cooler this time of year, so park guests are more comfortable participating in activities such as mountain biking, horseback riding, camping, etc.

Alabama is home to several covered bridges, including the historic Swann Covered Bridge (pictured) in Cleveland. Spanning nearly 330 feet, it's the state's longest covered bridge.

Horse Pens 40 is an outdoor nature park that's located in Steele, Alabama. It offers one of the Southeast's top bouldering opportunities. Bouldering is very similar to rock climbing, except no harness or rope is required. Only a crash pad.
