Most of us are familiar with a general store. For those of you who aren’t, it’s a store that’s usually located in a small rural town that offers a variety of essential items. Here in Alabama, there are several general stores. While some of these are historic, others have only been around for a short time. One of these newer general stores is Ashley Mercantile, which you can read all about below.
Ashley Mercantile, which was established in 2018, is a unique shopping destination that's located within the Warehouse District of Cullman, Alabama.
Because this modern-day general store offers such a variety of items, there's something for everyone. As you make your way through the store, you'll also feel like you're in an updated general store. It gives off such an old-timey feel.
Among these items are delicious food mixes, spices, and flavorful jams. There's also a "Pecan Pie In-A-Jar." All you have to add to it is butter, eggs, and a pie crust.
If you're a fan of enamelware, you're in luck because Ashley Mercantile also offers this type of dishes. From plates and bowls to kettles and spoons, there are plenty of wonderful pieces to add to your collection.
When it comes to toys, Ashley Mercantile offers a variety for all ages. A popular brand they carry is Green Toys, which are made in the USA from recycled milk jugs and are dishwasher safe.
And we can't forget about jigsaw puzzles. A shipment of these popular puzzles recently arrived at Ashley Mercantile, and I'm sure we can all agree there's no better time than right now to take on the challenge of putting these together.
