If you are a Denverite, you are most likely familiar with the upscale Brown Palace and its iconic tea… but did you know that this Denver institution isn’t the only gorgeous teahouse in the city? In fact, located just down the road from this downtown favorite lies this historic restaurant that is as stunning to look at as it is fascinating:
Located in Boulder lies the Dushanbe Tea House; a "symbol of peace & global friendship" that was created in 1987.
Situated along Boulder Creek, the Dushanbe (or just "Boulder") Tea House was gifted to the City of Boulder from its sister city of Dushanbe, Tajikistan as a way to remind Coloradans to "value cultural diversity, global cooperation, and international friendship."
Built entirely by hand, the Dushanbe Tea House features an incredible hand-carved and hand-painted ceiling...
...impressive wooden columns...
...and hammered copper sculptures depicting "The Seven Beauties."
In addition to *just* the jaw-dropping ambiance, the Boulder Tea House is also home to a delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu...
...and, of course, teas and accompanying small plates.
The Dushanbe Tea House is located at 1770 13th St in Boulder and is open daily from 8 am to 9 pm. For more information about the building, menu, and special events, please visit the Dushanbe's website .
