Full disclosure: some of these adventures are not quite as “treetop” as I’d like them to be, but when you’re as immersed in the woods as these spots are, it won’t really matter. You’ll be so surrounded, you’ll start to think that you and the forest are one! So, how do you have fun in the trees? You visit one of these cool locales, each with a different level of thrill. Whether you want to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine or zipline across the river, there’s a forest-themed place for everyone. Make the most of the summer weather and start with exploring one of Connecticut’s largest features. You’ll have tons of fun in the trees and you’ll make memories you’ll never forget. Check it out:
Spend the night in this two story hangout! Tucked in to the 113 acre property on Winvian Farm, this treehouse is a nostalgic retreat for all ages. This is the most immerseive forest experience in the market, and the stone path that runs underneath this breathtaking spot is perfect for a bike ride or leisurely stroll. This ropes course is an incredible sight, especially when it's lit up at night. Several treetop courses and obstacles, including ziplines, make this the most epic park ever. Each course takes abot a half hour to complete, which means there's plenty of time to test out the different levels. This exhilarating adventure is something a group would definitely love. The treetops come to you on this one. Come walk this easy trail, shaded by 100 yards of sky high pines, oaks, ashes and maples. In the winter this place is likened to Narnia, but in the summer it's the perfect spot for beginner hikers and forest fanatics to just enjoy the state's natural beauty. Likened to Middle Earth, this state park is known for its various landmarks, including bridges and tunnels. You'll also find a waterfall as you explore this lush and densely forested area of the state. Rumored to be the home away from home for Satan himself, this scenic gem is definitely worth exploring. This is not an attraction. The woods at this state forest are actually haunted, mostly because the colonial town that once existed here was swallowed up by the trees and though the tombstones were relocated, the actual graves never were. This whole place is practically an ancient burial ground and locals report hearing the cries of a young girl. Just avoid the haunted road on your way in and everything should be fine.
