Heading out into Arizona’s remote areas is a great solution and it can easily be done during your next day off from work. So, pack up an overnight bag, some extra water, and your hiking shoes and get ready to enjoy a few of Arizona’s most beautiful remote locations.
1. Aravaipa Canyon
When the temperatures are cool, plan a hiking or camping trip to Aravaipa Canyon located about two hours away from Tucson. Only 50 people are allowed here at a time, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a quiet spot to enjoy nature at its finest.

2. Arizona Hot Springs

4. Crown King Saloon
This saloon is located in the Bradshaw Mountains and requires a long drive along dirt switchbacks. Once you arrive, you’ll find yourself surrounded by towering pines and a cool historic saloon that dates to 1906. Enjoy drinks and live music then retire in the upstairs rooms, which is where the brothel once existed. In the morning, you can have breakfast with a hot cup of coffee and enjoy that beautiful pine air.

5. The Desert Bar
Located deep within the Buckskin Mountains near Parker, this seasonal restaurant requires a bit of a drive to reach but the effort is worth it. The restaurant is a popular venue for boaters, fishers, and other folks enjoying the Colorado River in this area during Arizona’s cool months. Just keep in mind that it’s open seasonally from October to April.

6. Gold King Mansion
Hidden away in the Hualapai Mountains, this abandoned building wasn’t originally meant to be a mansion. When it was first built in 1929, it was intended to be modern housing for miners of a new mine. The two-story concrete building was a far cry from the tents and makeshift shacks most miners were accustomed to in Arizona but it later became a place for the owners to wine and dine potential stock holders and investors. You can still visit it by hiking or driving on the dirt roads.
