Mississippi is full of unique grocery stores, offering everything from locally-produced goods to daily lunch specials. This Yazoo City landmark is known for its meat counter, which is practically overflowing with home-grown pork meats, including everything from pork chops to Eva’s world famous link sausage made with pork or venison. Hines also has a reputation for serving mouthwatering lunch specials, which usually include local favorites, like fried catfish and smoked ribs.

2. Williams Brothers (10360 Road 375, Philadelphia)
Known as "Williamsville" by locals, this charming, family-owned general store has been in business since 1907. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore the store and peruse the merchandise, which includes everything from common grocery items to clothing and boots. And if you really want a true Williamsville experience, try the hoop cheese or the bacon, which is sliced right in front of you.

Named the "best grocery store in Mississippi," Rainbow Co-op offers an impressive selection of natural foods and locally-produced organic products. The grocery store even has an on-site eatery, the High Noon Cafe, where you can fill up on organic and vegetarian dishes.

5. B.T.C. Old-Fashioned Grocery (301 N Main St., Water Valley)
Among the businesses that line Water Valley’s Main Street is B.T.C. Old-Fashioned Grocery. The popular grocery store and café is a one-stop-shop for locals. Offering everything from locally produced goods to organic products, B.T.C. really lives up to its promise of "a small town grocery with big city food."
Step inside Bozo’s, and you’ll find a grocery section filled with seasonings, mixes, and local favorites, like Zapp’s potato chips, a fish market, which offers a variety of fresh Gulf Coast seafood, and a lunch counter that sells some of the best po’ boys around. And it’s not just the locals that think so – Bozo’s po’ boys have been featured in several publications, including USA Today.
7. A.F. Carraway Store (213 General Robert E Blount Dr., Bassfield)
This nearly century-old general store has been serving the town of Bassfield since 1919. To this day, locals still visit the A.F. Carraway Store to stock up on everything from clothing and gifts to a variety of grocery items, including many locally-produced goods.
Founded in 1957 as a custom slaughter plant, Fortenberry’s has grown to include a small grocery store. Aside from a variety of fresh cut meats, you’ll find country smoked sausage, fresh vegetables, pre-cooked dishes, and other standard grocery items. Visit on a Saturday, and you can pick up some smoky barbecue.
9. S & W Grocery and Deli (2247 Simpson Hwy 28 West, Pinola)
You’ll find everything you need and more at this community grocery store. In addition to aisles filled with grocery items, S & W includes a deli and seafood counter. After shopping, head out back to Berry’s To-Go, a "seafood and catfish house."

Located just outside of Oxford in the small town of Waterford, Betty Davis Grocery has long been a local favorite and was recently voted "Oxford’s Favorite Road Trip." The quaint grocery store features shelves stocked with everything from "six-packs to curlers." You can even get your fill of barbecue at Betty Davis Grocery, which is known for serving one of the best pulled pork sandwiches around.
