Missouri has some amazing summer events. While we are known for having some great county fairs, the small-town festivals are some of the most unique summer events in the state. Our state’s rich history and natural resources provide some great reasons to celebrate. In no particular order, here are some of the best small-town festivals held in Missouri.
The 32nd annual Sugar Creek Slavic Festival is June 9-10, 2017, on the Mike Onka Memorial Building Grounds in Sugar Creek. Celebrate the customs and traditions passed down by the Slavic immigrants who helped settle Sugar Creek with music, dancing, and food. Be sure to check out the Kielbasa eating contest.
Farmington Country Days will be held June 2nd till June 4th in downtown Farmington. This farm town will show you how they get down. Enter in the talent show or enjoy carnival rides but be sure to hit the free parade and nightly concert.

The 53rd Bushwacker Days will run from June 7th through June 10th. Celebrate the history of Nevada at their classic small town street fair. Check out the classic car show, enjoy the nightly musical performance, or try some old fashioned fun and games.

Excelsior Springs is pretty proud of its water. That is why every year they hold a three day festival called Waterfest in celebration of the town's water history! Take a trolley tour of the town, let the kids enjoy some water themed activities, or just enjoy the food and drink vendors. The 36th Annual Water fest is being held June 23rd through 25th.
Come to historic downtown Hannibal on Memorial weekend for the Twain on Main festival. Mark Twain's hometown celebrates their history with arts, crafts, entertainment, and food all weekend long. Visit one of the 100 vendors or spend some time at the wine garden.

The 36th Annual Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival will be held from May 31st to June 3rd. Hear ragtime music, made popular by Scott Joplin, by an array of critically acclaimed performers. This year's event will feature special early bird performances on the 31st.
You can't lose as a visitor to the annual Arcadia Valley Bar-B-Que Battle. Set up at the Iron County Courthouse on June 9th, local barbecue buffs compete for the title of Best Bar-B-Que. Be the judge and come try them all.
Step back in time with the Central Missouri Renaissance Festival, set in 1550 Ireland. Experience artisans and entertainment from the period on June 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th. You may even get to meet the king!

The Kimmswick Strawberry Festival will be held June 3rd and 4th. Come get fresh strawberries, pies, jams, and more. There is always a big turn out so come early for the freshest berries!
The Old Time Music - Ozark Heritage Festival celebrates the heritage of the Ozarks and the particular genre of music produced in the region. Hear the distinctive sounds of the Ozark Highlands and help preserve these musical and artistic traditions. This year's festival runs June 2nd and 3rd.
