Are you always looking for more little-known secrets here in Kansas to visit? We’ve got a lot of little spots hiding between the bigger attractions, and I’m on the lookout for more every day. How many of these have you already found?
1. Beloit Falls (Beloit)
Not many know of Beloit or even Solomon River, but this soothing stream of water is the perfect background for anyone looking to relax and unwind.
2. Cedar Point Mill (Cedar Point)
This used to be a flour mill up until the 1940s, but now sits abandoned alongside this serene little river. In the fall, the leaves frame the scene with hues of red and gold that are perfect for any postcard.
3. Cheyenne Bottoms (NE of Great Bend)
The entirety of this nature refuge is full of beauty and animal life.
4. Elk Falls (Elk Falls)
This waterfall is a pretty secluded spot of beauty in a place self-named as the "World's Largest Living Ghost Town" that holds outhouse tours and contests. (Yes, I'm serious.)
5. Great Plains Nature Center tunnel of trees (Wichita)
This park is mostly ignored by the city people bustling around, but if you take the time to explore, sometimes you find new places to love Kansas.
6. St. Jacob's Well (Clark)
Hidden in the Big Basin Preserve, this watering hole is not only said to be haunted, but it's rumored to never run dry.
7. Mt. Sunflower (Wallace County)
Even though it's sitting 4039 feet above sea level, you wouldn't notice this was the highest point in Kansas, would you?
I can imagine you’re needing more places to visit, so with that in mind, try out these other great spots that might not have made it on your list yet!
