Update: The Mining Camp Restaurant was destroyed in a fire on July 25, 2017. There are plans to eventually rebuild but the owners have not provided a date.
Mining in Arizona has a long, tumultuous history. It grew towns, busted towns, caused mayhem, ended lives, and made some people ridiculously rich. Learning about the experience in museums and on tours can be fascinating, spooky, and even a bit depressing when you learn about the realities of living in a mining town, especially at the turn of the 20th-century.
If you are looking for a more lighthearted experience that you can share with your family, then you’ll want to check out this little central Arizona restaurant that has been serving meals and happy customers since 1961!
The Mining Camp Restaurant is located at 6100 East Mining Camp Street in Apache Junction. You can find details about the restaurant’s menu, hours, and entertainment by visiting their website or Facebook page.
