When it comes to pure magic, there is nothing quite as enchanting as both Colorado and/or whimsical fairies… but to combine the two? Now that is something extra special. You can find this colorful fairy trail located a mere hour and a half from the heart of Denver:
Located near Red Feather Lakes lies the fun and magical Elf Lane (or Gnome Road); a 1/4-mile stretch of dirt road between Lake Hiawatha and Lake Apache, that is home to a number of different fairies, gnomes, and elves.
Just where are these magical creatures hiding?
They are scattered throughout the many trees, in adorable pixie-sized homes, and in other various locations throughout the trail.
In addition to the creatures themselves, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for other surprises, like fairy doors fastened to trees, handmade signs (one warning "Do not take us, break us, or relocate us, as we live here on Elf Lane to watch over children and all the little animals"), and even surprise residents like Spongebob Squarepants!
There's truly no other place like it in the area.
