The Tiny Shop In Colorado That Serves Homemade Ice Cream To Die For
If you haven’t noticed, Colorado seemed to miss the memo that it’s wintertime and skipped right from fall to spring… That being said, what should we do to celebrate?! Treat ourselves to ice cream, of course! If you are looking for homemade ice cream that is to die for, check out this tiny Colorado shop:
What started as a dream for two high school friends quickly blossomed into a Colorado phenomenon when in 1986, Josh and John opened their Boston-inspired ice cream shop in Colorado Springs! Today, both Josh and John are full-time high school math teachers, but their famous slow-churned ice cream is still being served daily at their charming little shop! What’s so different about their recipe versus others? As per their website, “Whereas other ice creams are blast frozen in about 6 minutes, we are convinced that the best tasting ice cream is made when it has the time to be infused by whatever flavors we add through the churning process. Whether that flavor is Colorado Cookies and Cream, Butter Pecan, Oatmeal Cookie, or any of our other favorites, it’s the-slow churn approach coupled with our ice cream maker’s attention to detail and the use of the best ingredients available that make the difference.” Is your mouth watering yet?
Josh & John’s Ice Cream is located at both 111 E Pikes Peak Ave and 6896 Centennial Blvd in Colorado Springs, and is open Monday through Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM, and on Sundays from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
