There are, of course, tens of dozens of places to stay while you’re here, though some do tend to stick out above the others in terms of sheer epicness. For example, in downtown Easton, there’s a place called the Tidewater House, which is a stunning mansion built in the 1870s now being utilized as an inn. Not only is this one of the best places to stay in Maryland – but it's also in very close proximity to the vibrant arts and eats district, so there’s no shortage of fun stuff to do and see. There’s also the Gaylord National Resort, which is easily one of the most popular hotels in the state. As a coastal state, Maryland is also a beachy state. Sure, most folks may not think of “Maryland” when they think about beach escapes, but maybe they should. Maryland has plentiful beaches that will, to put it mildly, take your breath away. On the northwestern shore of Chesapeake Bay is the beautiful Sandy Point State Park, which is home to some of our most amazing ocean views. Also nearby the Chesapeake Bay is Calvert Cliffs State Park, where you can search for fossils right on the beach (and usually, you’ll have pretty good success). If you’re a fan of wildlife, you might just die when you visit Assateague Island National Seashore, where, incredible views aside, there are wild horses who roam. We also really love Breezy Point Beach, and Betterton Beach, too.
