While it’s certainly possible to make a great living in every part of Washington, a few of our counties have certain advantages, like housing some of our larger corporations. The places on this list are home to some of the wealthiest people in the state—so if you’re considering moving to one of them, prepare for a high cost of living. After researching and checking out HomeSnacks, we’ve determined that the following towns are the 10 richest cities in Washington.
First on the list of the wealthiest towns in Washington state is Sammamish. This beautiful city has a median household income of $144,775 and an insanely low poverty rate of 2.2%. The vast majority of the 49,077 people who live there are quite well off. If you live in Sammamish, you are probably doing quite well financially.
Snoqualmie’s poverty level is an almost nonexistent rate of 1.5%. The median income of its 11,625 residents is $130,060. People who live in Snowqualmie are lucky because this town is gorgeous!
Nestled in between Woodinville and Duvall sits the quiet town of Cottage Lake, with a median income of $134,802 and an unemployment rate of just 4.5%. The lake for which the town is named is also a beautiful place to visit.
Mercer Island’s median income is $125,651, and the poverty level is a mere 3.5%. No wonder the median home value here is around $1.3 million. This lovely spot is famous for good reason!
8,959 people call Bothell East home, and only 2.8% of them are unemployed. The median income here is $104,573. This town also features some great restaurants, so next time you're in Bothell East, be sure to check them out!
Located in King County east of Redmond, the median income in Union Hill-Novelty Hill is $124,606. The poverty level is just 2.8%. People who live in Union Hill-Novelty Hill certainly have an impressive place to call home.
Silver Firs, which you’ll find in Snohomish County near Mill Creek, has a median income of $102,480 and a poverty level of 3.6%. The 22,400 people who live in this lovely place are definitely doing well.
This Clark County gem is home to 7,416 people, and the median income is $100,250. They also have an extremely low poverty level, just 3.1%. The next time you find yourself in Clark County, stop by beautiful Felida for a visit.
Located on the outskirts of the city of Sammamish, Klahanie makes the list because of its 2.3% poverty rate and $116,830 median income levels. The pretty Klahanie Park is a great place to stop with your kids if you're in the area.
Newcastle has a slightly higher poverty level than the other places on this list, although at 6%, it’s still very low. The $110,456 median income and 5% unemployment rate make it 10th on the list of the richest areas in Washington state.
