Even if you rarely indulge in a glass of wine, you can surely still enjoy a pleasant visit to these wineries across Arkansas! The Natural State is proud to be home to a variety of vineyards that produce deliciously sweet (or dry) nectar for everyone to sample or even purchase. Many of these wineries offer tours and even meals for visitors to enjoy with a glass of their special brand.
This winery, located in Morrilton at 112 East Commerce Street, features handcrafted wines made in small batches, a tasting bar, wine-making classes and supplies, and a gift shop.
The Tontitown Winery, open six days a week for free tastings, is housed in the "Taldo House" built in 1917. Tontitown Winery is located at 335 N. Barrington Road in Springdale. Cowie Wine Cellars and Vineyards is located 3 miles west of Paris, on Scenic Highway 22 in Carbon City. Bed and breakfast suites, as well as complimentary wine tasting with cheese, are featured, and visitors can observe wine making operation and the Gallery of Barrels, which features oil paintings on the barrel heads.
Chateau Aux Arc of famed wine country Altus promotes itself as the largest planter of Cynthiana grapes in the world as well as the largest planter of Chardonnay grapes in the United States outside of California. Chateau Aux Arc is named for the French term meaning "at the bend," which is generally believed to be the origin of the name "Ozark." The winery has been locally owned and operated since 2001.
Railway Winery and tasting room can be found on Highway 187, two miles past the Beaver Bridge. One of the newest small farm wineries in Arkansas, Railway Winery is situated alongside the old M&NA Railway line on Trestle 71-7. The tasting room is open on weekends (Friday through Sunday).
