Georgians are not just known for their Southern hospitality and fondness for pecan pie. No, the rest of the country has us all wrong. True Georgians are known for a whole slew of things outside of just the standard stereotypes. In fact, here are 15 things every true Georgia does at least once before they die:
Stone Mountain is one of the most popular attractions in the entire state. People flock from all over to gaze up at the granite, hike the trails, or take the tram to see for miles in every direction.
True Georgians have been to Savannah—that's just a fact. And of course, if you're ever visiting Savannah, then you'll definitely stroll along the beautiful river and take in the sights.

We are lucky enough to have both the mountains and the coast. Not may other states can say that. Which is why true Georgians respect and honor their coast to no end.

Covered bridges are a rarity in the country, but that doesn't make them any less beautiful. In fact, Georgia has 16 wooden covered bridges, which residents seek out in order to appreciate the history behind this great state.
While other states may become masters in things like wine or oil production, every true Georgian has become a BBQ connoisseur with time. Between all the delicious types of barbecue that pepper this great state, it's hard not to want to try them all—so, you do!

True Georgians love pralines or at the very least, sunk their teeth into the gooey goodness at least once in their lifetime. Since Georgia is one of the top producers of pecans, it's only fitting.

Georgia has some incredible architecture, and the residents know that. Which is why we know just how important and historically wonderful the antebellum architecture is to the state.

Yes, the traffic is garbage, people can be mean, and streets can be dirty at times. But more often then not, when you're driving down the highway and catch a glimpse of the Atlanta skyline, you just can't help but marvel.

True Georgians know what a haunted pillar is. True Georgians will NEVER touch said haunted pillar.
While other states or visitors may get freaked out over cemeteries, Georgia has some downright beautiful ones. True Georgians appreciate the burial ground as it is, but also can appreciate the beauty of the land and build, too.
