Dec. 22, 2016 Hurricane Matthew status of beach access: The South Carolina DNR is working to replace the bridge that provides access to this magical beach in South Carolina. Until the bridge is replaced the only way to get to the beach is if you have a boat, canoe or kayak. At last report, SCDNR was waiting for funds to be allocated to replace the bridge. Botany Bay Plantation and Botany Bay Road are accessible.
