There are certain things that just make Christmas , well, Christmas. And with the big day just a few weeks away, now’s the time to start checking items off your holiday bucket list. Just to get you started, we came up with some amazing events, traditions, and attractions that you’ll definitely want to make a part of your holiday season.
1. Attend your local Christmas parade or festival.

2. Drive around and look at all of the spectacular Christmas lights and decorations.

3. Take a magical ride on the Polar Express.
Each Christmas season, the Grenada Railroad offers the holiday-themed train ride, which takes passengers on a magical journey to the North Pole, complete with hot chocolate, singing elves, and Santa Clause himself. 4. Indulge in your favorite holiday foods.
Mississippi is a state known for its amazing food, and it only gets better during the holidays. From family gatherings to workplace parties, you’re bound to find some state favorites, like pimento cheese and pecan pie.
5. Visit Merrehope in Meridian for the 48th Annual Trees of Christmas 2016.

6. Check out one of the “Most Unusual Christmas Displays in the United States.”
Each Christmas season, The Towers Mansion in Natchez hosts The Jeweled Christmas. The indoor display includes thousands of pieces of vintage jewels, creating a holiday wonderland unlike anything you’ve ever seen. For more information, click

7. Head to Natchez and tour beautifully decorated homes from the past.

8. Experience an old-fashioned Christmas at Landrum’s Homestead and Village.

9. Visit one of Mississippi’s largest animated Christmas light displays, Christmas in Cotton Plant.

10. Get into the holiday spirit at Canton’s Victorian Festival.

11. Go to a local farm, and cut down the family Christmas tree.

12. Pile the family in the car and take Tylertown’s Christmas in the Park Driving Tour.
