This one is simple, because it's true. Outsiders probably won't understand that a rural general store can make the best sandwich that's ever been made, but if you've ever stopped by this Georgetown establishment, you'll get it.

In Delaware, there are plenty of chain restaurants, but not many CROWDED chain restaurants, because we love our local restaurants and we love supporting small businesses. Plus, the food is just better.

We're clearly proud of Dogfish Head, but Painted Stave gives us some Delaware pride, too. You can find pretty much anything brewed or distilled right in Delaware.

It's called "slower lower" for a reason, and it's because we really take our time and soak up all the benefits of small town living. Most of our towns don't even top 5,000 residents!

Delaware life translates pretty well to Wilmington, too. Rodney Square and Trolley Square are full of culture and history, and the DuPont Estates are all located in Wilmington's city limits, too.

Most of Delaware life is based around slow paced action in areas without any crowds - so Firefly certainly shakes things up. While we're proud of the recognition the state gets for hosting this amazing festival, navigating the crowds also makes us a little anxious.

We almost consider them pets if we live on the coast - they're everywhere, all summer long.

In every corner of the state - from Hockessin, out to Lewes, down to Selbyville and over to Laurel - we have the most charming small towns that are straight out of a storybook. And we absolutely love them.
