There aren’t many other places quite like North Dakota. Growing up here is an experience you will always hold in your heart. You’ll never quite forget it, and it’s not unusual for your heart to ache for it again after moving far away. Everything from the people to the natural surroundings are special and dear to us North Dakotans, and we will always consider it home.
If you live in small town North Dakota, you know what this is like. Everyone knows everyone, and they'll always come together for anyone who needs a hand. There's always a friendly neighbor you can rely on if you need one. It does mean that word spreads quick, but sometimes that can be pretty helpful!
North Dakotans have all the reasons to be proud of their state. Nodak tops the rankings in some nationwide statistics like agriculture, low unemployment, and even things like having some of the lowest crime rates. Other than that, we just know it's amazing and we aren't afraid to say we live here.

Urban environments certainly aren't for everyone, and for those of us who grew up here, we will always miss the open prairie and fields if we have to give them up for someplace else.

I'll never get tired of the beauty of an ND sky, from dawn till dusk and well into the night. We get to have front row seats to breathtaking sunrises and sunsets and we also get the privilege of having low light pollution that allows us to see thousands of stars in the night sky, and even on occasion the aurora borealis.
North Dakota is renowned for being a great place to hunt things like pheasant and fish for walleye. It's a huge part of the state's culture and is hard to beat elsewhere.

Even if you prefer one over the other, you can have the best of both here. Places like Fargo, Bismarck, and Grand Forks are all busy and bustling while there are certainly plenty of quiet, secluded areas to live in as well.
Think that the Peace Garden State is just flat fields? Think again! We have a bit of everything here. Rugged buttes of the badlands, lush river valleys, huge expanse of prairies as well as gently rolling hills of the plains, not to mention hidden pockets of forests here and there.

ND is a great place to get away from smoggy cities and get a breath of fresh air out in the open prairies. Even in the cities there is nowhere near the type of smog and pollution found in other places.
Your heart will never truly leave ND. Even if when you are young you were so ready to get out, the second you did, you still had a bit of an aching for that ND life. But no matter how long you're away from it, you'll always be welcomed back.
