People from outside Nevada probably don’t think we have any farms since we live in a big dry dusty desert. Agriculture actually plays a big part of Nevada’s economy. Although most of the agricultural land in Nevada is focused on livestock, we have a wide range of farms and ranches producing products for your table that you can visit.
1. Andelin Family Farm, Spanish Springs (Sparks), NV
This family-owned farm holds a fall harvest festival and a spring baby animal days event for the public. They also host parties, field trips and summer camps. You can purchase farm-raised meat and produce. They are located at 8100 Pyramid Highway in Spanish Springs.
2. Bella Vista Farm, Minden, NV
Bella Vista Farm is a labor of love for couple Bill and Raquel Barth. They specialize in produce, particularly tomatoes, and you can also pick your own berries. The farm has a country store and they also have occasional on-site "breakfast cafes" in their heated barn.
3. Churchill Vineyards, Fallon, NV
This lovely vineyard is located on the historic Frey Ranch. They are currently the only vineyard in Nevada producing wines grown, produced and bottled in the state. They are located at 1045 Dodge Lane, Fallon, NV.
4. Gilcrease Orchard, Las Vegas, NV
The Gilcrease Orchard is a 60-acre farm with "u pick" options for visitors. They produce fruits and vegetables and are open to the public from March through October. They are located at 7800 North Tenaya Way, Las Vegas.
5. Iron Mountain Nursery & Farm, Silver Springs, NV
Iron Mountain Nursery & Farm grows fruit and shade trees, herbs, vegetables and house plants. Both trees and produce are for sale at their farm stand. 6. Jacobs Family Berry Farm, Gardnerville, NV
This 5-acre farm plants blackberries and raspberries. You can also rent their beautiful property for events. The farm is located at 1335 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, NV.
7. Lattin Farms, Fallon, NV
Lattin Farms is a five-generation family farm. They are known as "pioneers" in the production of raspberries in the state. You can buy a wide variety of fruits and vegetables at their farm stand. Located at 1955 McLeon Road, Fallon, NV.
8. Lazy P Adventure Farm, Winnemucca, NV
Lazy P is a 43-acre farm which focuses on education. The farm provides several activities for children and adults to learn about agriculture. They also host a popular corn maze and pumpkin patch in October. The address is 8280 Grass Valley Road, Winnemucca, NV.
9. Mother Earth Growers, Silver Springs, NV
Mother Earth Growers is a family owned nursery. They focus on wholesale sales but the public can visit the nursery on the weekends to buy plants, as well as some vegetables in the spring. They are located at 1500 Ebony Avenue, Silver Springs, NV.
10. Quail Hollow Farm, Overton, NV
Quail Hollow Farm sells shares of their crop to the local community. You can visit the farm to pick them up weekly or they make deliveries to specific drop off locations. They produce a large selection of fruits and vegetables. To visit the farm, contact them to set up an appointment.
