This storybook-themed park opened in 1955 and closed in the 1990s. You may remember riding the enchanting rides during field trips or on the weekends. Today, you can find some of the restored structures at Clark's Elioak Farm in Ellicott City.

While there are still a few roller rinks left in Maryland, in the 80s, they seemed to flourish. This was the place to be on Friday and Saturday nights with your favorite leg warmers complementing your skates.

In the 1980s, bowling was wildly popular across the nation, including in Maryland. So much so, that the sport was featured in the 1988 Olympic games. Although it's declined in popularity since, you can still find a few bowling alleys around the Old Line State. Easton Bowling Center (pictured above) has been around for over 50 years.

On January 4, 1987, sixteen people were killed as an Amtrak collided with a diesel locomotive in Baltimore County. The event made national news and the attached photo was shared on major news networks. As a result, changes were made for future crash prevention.
