It’s no secret that we here at Only in Colorado love both historic ghost towns and nostalgic train rides… so you can imagine our delight when we discovered a train ride that takes you through one of the state’s most famous abandoned areas. If you are like us and want to experience ghost towns in a whole new way, climb aboard this beautifully haunting train ride:
Chugging along from mid-May through mid-October, the historic Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad offers an informative 45-minute train ride through some of the most iconic spots in the area.
Though the town of Cripple Creek itself is not a ghost town per se, the community houses a number of once thriving (and now deserted) locations, which are covered during this educational tour.
The cost to ride the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors and $10 for children 3-12. For more information on the train and availability, visit their website.
