When you want to get away from it all, where do you go? Believe it or not, there was a parish in Louisiana that was identified as one of the most remote places in the entire country. Which one? Terrebonne Parish. The researchers measured remoteness by how far you could travel before crossing a road. In swampy Terrebonne, the measure was 22 miles.
