What’s more important in life than happiness? We can all probably agree it’s pretty important, and where you live can have a huge impact on how happy you are. Recently, WalletHub released a list of the Happiest States In America.
Iowans should be feeling pretty good right about now, because Iowa snagged the number seven spot on the list.
Apparently, money does buy happiness...but only to a degree. Researchers found an increase in life satisfaction up to $75,000 a year, but there's no real difference beyond that amount. Plus, that's only one component of the very thorough study.
WalletHub looked at 28 metrics to determine each state's level of happiness, including factors relating to health, purpose, and how connected people feel socially.
Iowa received a total happiness score of 60.92 on the 100-point scale. It ranks #5 of all the states when it comes to work environment, and #14 for both emotional and physical well-being and community and environment.
Overall, the Midwest dominated the top 10, but Utah took the number one spot, with a total happiness score of 71.02.
