If you love the idea of taking in breathtaking scenery and tasting fine wines, then the Connecticut Wine Council Trail is the perfect getaway for you! This unique experience invites you to spend your weekends wandering vineyards, having picnics on the rolling hills, and sampling the finest local wines and cheeses. I can’t imagine a better way to spend your afternoons!
This trail begins when you stop by one of the 32 farm wineries to pick up your passport. Then get exploring!
Whether you choose to sit inside and enjoy your wine at a table or grab a seat on the patio, you're sure to be surrounded by beauty. As you tour the state, get your passport stamped to show you made a visit and tasted the wine!
The passport is free to obtain, so all you have to do is ask! Each winery offers a unique setting and its own brand of wine. Some also offer tours and other special events.
This trail will make you feel like a kid again! You'll be on an adults only adventure, collecting stamps, sampling cheese, and getting lost in the endless rows of vineyards. You won't believe how much you'll have as you drive from winery to winery.
These places are always lush with nature, offering plenty of scenic views and nature escapes. Talk about dream locations for a staycation! You'll see Connecticut like never before, from the quiet solitude to the small red barns.
What great places to catch some fall foliage too! Once you've collected 16 stamps you can submit your passport to any of the farms to be entered into the grand prize drawing.
Passports are due the first Sunday of November, so I'd get started if you haven't already! Of course, you can always go wine tasting even without your passport. After all, these are can't miss destinations!
