Is there anything better than a good diner? Simple comfort food classics perfectly prepared on a hot griddle, any time of day or night. There are plenty of good diners in Florida, but if you really want to go back in time in an authentic 1940s dining car (and enjoy a fantastic meal), there’s one you really need to try:
Even though it's surrounded by tall buildings, this adorable little diner feels right at home in Miami Beach's historic Art Deco District.
The 11th Street Diner has been sitting it its current location since 1992, but its history goes back much further than that.
The authentic dining car was built in Haledon, New Jersey and moved to Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, where it served the community for more than 40 years.
Today, this Art Deco diner is like a living time capsule, serving all kinds of classic American favorites (and a few of its own specialties).
This is a happening city, so the diner is open 24 hours a day, Thursday through Saturday (and until midnight every other day) and has a full bar. Pictured is Grand Marnier Bananas French Toast and two cocktails, the Tropical Daiquiri and the Aperol Spritz.
What kind of diner would it be if it didn't serve some of the best breakfast in town? Just look at this fluffy Belgian waffle topped with fresh strawberries.
Of course, there are plenty of burgers and sandwiches to choose from, like the turkey club, piled high with thick slices of fresh turkey.
The diner has also been featured for its dinner menu, from the Argentinian steak to the perfect pork chops.
You can always stop in just for a treat, like a yummy milkshake. If you're so inclined, you can even order them "spiked."
Yum! Do you have a favorite diner in Florida we should know about?
