The killer was never caught, but the ghost of the distraught runaway still lingers here. Visitors to this area often hear footsteps in the woods around the pond. Some hear a young girl's voice saying, "no..." and "please..."

If you're brave enough to camp at Lums Pond, take refuge in your tent when it gets dark. As you tuck in, you'll hear the wind whistling through the trees. You might hear something (or someone) walk through your camp. And then, just as you drift off to sleep, you might hear a young girl scream.
