While it would be nearly impossible to pin down which spooky state story is the creepiest, there is a haunted cemetery in Indiana that warrants some attention. This haunted cemetery has a strange and frightening tale, and a challenge, if any Hoosiers are brave enough to attempt it.
Nestled between Brazil and Terre Haute, in the unincorporated community of Cloverland sits the cemetery known to locals as the 100 Steps Cemetery.
This cemetery is famous for the haunting legend behind it. In fact, according to the legend, a visit to this cemetery could successfully tell you how you will die.

In order to find out your fate or investigate the paranormal happenings in this cemetery, you first need to visit on a night so dark that you can't see your hands in front of you. You must proceed up the cemetery's famous stairs, counting each one until you reach the 100th and final stair.

Upon reaching the top, you're meant to then turn toward the cemetery's open field, where you'll be greeted by the ghost of the cemetery's original undertaker.
The undertaker will not speak, but it is rumored he will show you a vision of your death. From there, you must proceed down the steps. If you do not count the same number of steps as you did before, then it is believed you will die in the way the undertaker presented to you. If you do reach the same number, then your death is still a mystery.
Others have tried to cheat this process by walking alongside the steps at night, but many claim attempts to do so are thwarted. A phantom presence allegedly pushes down those who attempt to walk up other ways, and many claim a red imprint, thought to be the mark of the devil, can be seen on these people's backs for days afterwards.
