There are a few haunted hotels in Illinois, but none might be more creepy than the Ruebel Hotel. What’s more is that the owners don’t even deny that there are spirits. This hotel is located in Grafton, Illinois. It was built way back in 1884. Right off the river, it was frequently visited by riverboat workers. It also had one of the best saloons around. It became abandoned in the 1980s, but was revived in the late 1990s as a hotel. But almost immediately, strange happenings occurred. People have heard and felt the presence of many people. One ghost, however, sticks out in particular: Abigail. Abigail is a young girl who likes to hang out in the upstairs hallway and the top of the stairway on the second floor. And it’s not just one or two people who have seen her: multiple people have encountered the same little girl. Only this is definitely not a girl, but is a spirit. Even creepier is the fact that people have attempted to take a picture of her. What the camera picks up is strange orbs of light. Abigail doesn’t appear to be menacing, but it is deeply unsettling to see the ghost of a child hanging out in your hotel. Would you stay here? Have you stayed here?
