It’s a great big deal when the same old license plate you’ve been looking at on the bumpers of cars in front of you for years gets more than a face lift. That’s precisely the case in Maryland, as everything but the scripted “Maryland” is being replaced on the state’s license plate.
Maryland's Governor Larry Hogan "proudly" unveiled the new "MD PROUD" plate Thursday during a press conference.
Marylanders everywhere are loving the new plate! The new design is getting much attention on social media platforms as the comments keep piling up in a consensus of two-thumbs-up.
Maryland license plates have certainly evolved over the years.
In comments from all over the Internet regarding the new design, Marylanders are saying they'll be glad to see the old plates go. So, good riddance, old plate. We still love you but you're being replaced by a younger, newer, fresher and yes, prettier model.
The plates aren't the only facelift from the MD-MVA this year.
In June, the Maryland Department of Transportation unveiled a new, safer, Driver's License and ID card that shows some striking continuity with the new state plate design.
The new MD PROUD plates will be available starting September 26, 2016.
What do you think of the new MD PROUD license plates? We’d love to know in our comments!
