DCity Smokehouse is going through some growing pains as it moves to a bigger restaurant. But even with the location switch, they still do some of the best BBQ in the city and their sandwiches never disappoint.

Fat Pete’s is a Glover Park neighborhood favorite. It has a huge menu of different meats and classic sides like mashed potatoes and fried green tomatoes. Their speciality is the wide array of sauces that you can choose from.

KBC is a cute Columbia Heights place that does one heck of a pulled pork. You also won’t want to miss the Johnny Cakes, mini cornbread cakes covered in butter for the real experience.
8. Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company
Rocklands has been a DC BBQ spot since 1990 with its original location in Glover Park. Oak or hickory smoked meat is the way to go along with the classic sides like mac & cheese and baked beans.
9. Kenny’s Smokehouse
Kenny’s is a Capitol Hill no-frills place with excellent hickory-smoked meats and favorite sides. President Obama made an appearance here in 2012.
10. SmallFry
A nontraditional smoke-house, SmallFry is one of Park View’s best kept secrets near Columbia Heights. Their menu is no-frills but delicious and their only drawback is they don’t serve alcohol yet.
