205 Dry is a hidden speakeasy that opened in 2018. It’s the baby of Binghamton’s Alise Willerton, who is additionally the owner of Uncorked Creations, an art studio that exists upstairs from the bar.
The space is filled with antiques, fresh flowers, books and candles—and that’s not to mention its beautiful bar. The music that gets played often includes versions of contemporary music played in that classic 1920s style. The whole vibe is a mixture of old and new.
Then there is the food, which takes a focus on bar classics, made with a classy twist. We love the OG Chicken Sandwich–a fried chicken sandwich presented with slaw and pickles. The Prohibition Burger, which features custom dry-aged beef, is quite tasty, as well. For non meat eaters, there is a vegan garden and grain bowl.
The cocktail program is also impressive, with over 30 craft cocktails to choose from. We love the 205’s take on the Old Fashioned, created with Knob Creek. There are additionally around 10 craft beers available on the tap.
