Fun fact: Indiana is home to hundreds – literally hundreds – of lakes. And of these hundreds of lakes, 19 of them are natural; the lake I’m going to gush about today is not natural, but that’s okay. Don’t let that fool you – it’s beautiful, and it makes for an awesome day trip (if not more). Known as Cagles Mill Lake, this body of water was formed in 1952 as Indiana’s first-ever flood control reservoir. The lake is 1,400 acres in size and offers up all sorts of sports and recreation opportunities. Come visit this stunning lake located at Lieber State Recreation Area; you don’t want to miss out on this one.

If the name of this place rings a bell but you're not sure exactly where you've heard it, I can spoil it for you: Lieber State Recreation Area is home to the famed and fabled Cataract Falls.

The falls are a major draw, but what most folks don't realize is that the whole recreational area makes for an absolutely amazing camping trip, glamping trip, or whatever else you have in mind. No matter what, you're in for fun.
Cagles Mill Lake is one of the main courses, if you will, to this delicious vacation.

Popular activities include swimming, fishing, boating, and more. Kayaking is a very popular pastime 'round here.
I personally feel like there's no better way to explore a lake of this size than by kayak or canoe; your mileage may vary, but I can't endorse renting a kayak enough.
