Spring in Georgia is a beautiful time. Sure, the pollen can be a drag (and mean lots of trips to the car wash), but the flowers and greenery are absolutely unbeatable. It’s the perfect time of year to get out and enjoy all that the Peach State has to offer, and if you’re looking to enjoy some of the prettiest gardens in Georgia, we’ve got you covered with this North Georgia road trip. It’s a lengthy drive, but you’ll head to some absolutely magnificent destinations and have the opportunity to see some of the most stunning flowers in the state. Check it out:
In all, the trip requires just under five hours of driving, and it's a great option for a three-day weekend trip this spring or summer.
Our first stop is the magnificent State Botanical Gardens of Georgia in Athens. This free destination spans 313 acres and features a variety of native, tropical, and even herb species. Springtime means plenty of brilliant blooms, and you'll find lots of fun in the children's area if you're bringing along the little ones.

2. University of Georgia Campus

While you're in Athens, make a secondary stop at the University of Georgia campus , just a few blocks away from the botanical gardens. The campus is open the public and is home to dozens of beautiful gardens.
